Q: Can you change the key? A: Yes, as much as up 5 half steps or, as much as down five half steps. Please write on top of slip if you wish for key change.
Q: Why are there 2 #’s to the same song? A: I have picked the 2 best arrangements for some of the songs that I have on many different CDG’s. If there are 2 #’s, please write them both down for your benefit. The reason I have “Best Choice” is: it’s the favorite of most singers.
Q: What is your policy on Duets? A: A Duet must go under one of the two singer’s turns. Please circle the person whose turn the duet goes under.
Q: Do you stop the show at 1AM? A: The hosts are paid to go to 1AM only, no longer. It is up to the host to continue or not. If you’d like to tip the host for going overtime, if that’s okay with the host, then so be it.
Q: What is the age limit? A: You must be at least 21 years of age.
Q: How do you run your rotation? A: We call the singers up in order that the request slips are received. Note: We have some regulars that have been coming to our shows for years. Some of them do not hand in actual request slips. As the host sees them, we write his or her name on a request slip and put them in line in order of who was there first. Once they sing, they go back in line again just like everyone else. If we have many singers, we go an hour or up to an hour and a half before starting the rotation over again. New singers are inserted early into the new rotation in the order that they were received. The earlier you arrive, the more chances you have at singing.
